How to find EMC test reports at the FCC’s website

Product EMC test reports can contain valuable information that’s not included in product manuals or free literature that’s posted on vendor websites. Here is how you can locate these test reports. They are hidden in plain sight . . . . 

In this short video I show you where to go to search for the reports and what kind of information you need to access them. I take you through the search process. That includes taking a brief look at a specific report to sample the kind of information contained in them.

As explained in the video, you’ll want to go to the FCC’s Office of Engineering and Technology website and perform an FCC ID search. If you don’t have the FCC id handy, try doing a Google search. It’s usually fruitful.

For example, here are the results for searching for the iPhone 6 FCC ID. It’s revealed by several results: BCG-E2817A.
