A note about the difference between ICEA and IPCEA

IPCEA, or ICEA? Here’s the connection . . . .

The IPCEA changed its name to the ICEA, but you will probably see both terms used.

Formerly known as the “Insulated Power Cable Engineers Association,” they dropped the “Power” from their name. Their standards are often published as joint ICEA/NEMA standards.

There’s a brief explanation of this in the essay titled “Standards and Specifications” by Carl C. Landinger and Lauri J. Hiivala in Electrical Power Cable Engineering (William Thue, editor), on pages 204-205. You can find it on Google Books.
